Château Pibran

France

Château Pibran is a Pauillac cru bourgeois in Bordeaux, owned by AXA Millésimes since 1987 and expanded in 2001 through the acquisition of neighboring Château La Tour Pibran. The vineyard is planted mainly to Merlot, with Cabernet Sauvignon also playing a major role, and vines average around 30 years of age. The estate was previously overseen by Jean-Michel Cazes and has been managed by Christian Seely since 2000. Winemaking uses temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, with malolactic fermentation in tank, followed by 12 to 15 months of ageing in French oak barrels, half of them new. The style combines classic Pauillac structure with a notably Merlot-led vineyard mix.
