Château La Tessonnière

France

Château La Tessonnière is a family-owned Cru Artisan estate in Civrac-en-Médoc and Bégadan on Bordeaux’s left bank. Founded by Alphonse Chevreux in the early 20th century, it has been run since 1995 by his great-grandson Cédric Colemyn, the fifth-generation winemaker. The vineyards are sustainably cultivated and HVE Level 3 certified, with reduced inputs, biological pest control, grass cover, and careful management of biodiversity, fertilizers, and water. Planted to traditional Médoc varieties on clay-limestone slopes, the estate combines personal vineyard and cellar involvement with a distinctive historical touch: its Bois du Roi cuvée is aged in amphorae for 12 months, reviving a Gallo-Roman tradition.
