Quinta Dona Matilde is a family-owned Douro estate restored to direct Barros family ownership when Manuel Ângelo Barros repurchased it in 2006, following the sale of the family’s historic port houses and vineyards. Its 60-year-old vines produce both white and red wines. Reserve reds are traditionally foot-trodden in historic granite tanks, reflecting a hands-on approach rooted in the estate’s heritage. The operation is led by Manuel Ângelo Barros, alongside marketing director Filipe Barros, viticulturist José Carlos Oliveira, and winemaker João Pissara.
