Venus la Universal

Spain

Venus La Universal is a small, family-led winery in Falset, DO Montsant, founded by winemakers Sara Pérez and René Barbier. The project is built as a close partnership with local grape-growing families, for whom Venus acts as sole client, alongside fruit from their own small parcel. All vineyards are farmed organically under rigorous ecological standards and certified by the Consell Català de la Producció Agrària Ecològica, with further low-impact practices in the cellar and packaging. Working with traditional varieties such as Garnatxa and Carinyena, often from old vines, the wines focus on terroir expression through plot-by-plot vinification, non-selected yeasts, patience, balance, and freshness.
