Torrevento is a Puglian producer based at the foot of Castel del Monte in the Alta Murgia National Park, where it occupies a former 17th-century Benedictine monastery with ancient underground cellars. Founded by the Liantonio family, the winery focuses on indigenous varieties—especially Nero di Troia, alongside Bombino, Primitivo, Aglianico and Negroamaro—and produces reds, rosés and whites from Castel del Monte, Murgia, Primitivo and Salento. Its long-standing commitment to sustainable agriculture includes biodiversity protection, careful soil and irrigation management, precision viticulture and certified standards including Equalitas, IFS Food, CSQA and SQNPI. Torrevento has received Gambero Rosso’s 2019 Sustainable Viticulture Award and is known for its sustained work with Nero di Troia, including the flagship Vigna Pedale and Ottagono wines.
