Terre di Giurfo

Italy

Terre di Giurfo is an estate-owned Sicilian producer in Contrada Giurfo, along the Dirillo River valley on the border between Licodia Eubea and the Iblea area of south-eastern Sicily. Owned by Achille Alessi and the Alessi family, the estate reflects a family connection to the land and to the father who managed Giurfo over the years. Its vineyards and olive groves benefit from a generous climate, varied soils and strong sun exposure. The winery produces wines from Sicilian varieties including Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, Frappato, Nero d’Avola, Nerello Mascalese, Grillo and Chardonnay, alongside Syrah and Etna DOC wines. It is described as operating organically, although no certification details are provided.
