Founded in Illasi in 1843, Santi is a historic Valpolicella producer now part of Gruppo Italiano Vini and associated with the Santi family. The winery focuses on the territory’s native grapes, particularly Corvina, sourced from selected vineyards in Val d’Illasi and neighboring valleys. Its style combines traditional appassimento for Amarone and Ripasso with long maturation in large barrels made from local woods, emphasizing slow micro-oxygenation, aromatic complexity, and longevity. The cellar was renovated in 2016 according to winemaker Cristian Ridolfi’s philosophy. Today, Alessandro Nogara serves as winemaker and director, bringing formal training and experience within GIV. Santi also welcomes visitors for tours, tastings, events, and direct purchases at its WineShop.
