Pétrus is a small, world-renowned Pomerol estate in Bordeaux, owned by the Moueix family and now managed by Jean-François Moueix, with Olivier Berrouet overseeing winemaking. Its vineyard is planted entirely to Merlot on distinctive blue-clay soils, with vines averaging over 45 years of age. The estate follows a meticulous, traditional approach, including low yields through green-harvesting, hand-picking over a few days, careful fruit selection, fermentation in concrete tanks, and aging for 18 months in 50% new French oak. The result is an exceptionally sought-after Bordeaux red known for rarity, precision, and quality.
