Producer

Patz & Hall

United States

Patz & Hall is a Sonoma, California producer founded in 1988 by James Hall, Donald Patz, Anne Moses, and Heather Patz. Now repurchased by founding winemaker James Hall, the winery focuses on single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from distinguished, often cool-climate California sites. Its wines are shaped by long-standing, multigenerational relationships with growers including the Hyde, Chenoweth, Dutton, Pisoni, Ritchie, and Moses families. The approach is vineyard-first and restrained, combining traditional methods with modern precision, meticulous lot-by-lot handling, custom French oak, and extended traditional-method sparkling production. The portfolio emphasizes clarity, texture, age-worthiness, and the distinct character of each vineyard.
