Producer

Misty Cove

New Zealand

Misty Cove is an independent, privately held producer based in Marlborough, with offices in Blenheim, a cellar door in Renwick, and vineyards in the Wairau and Southern Valleys. Founded in 2008, it is led by owner Tim May and chief winemaker Emmanuel “Manu” Bolliger, with a philosophy of getting the fruit right and intervening as little as possible in the winery. The range spans Estate, Landmark, and Limited Release wines, with a focus on handcrafted, small-batch bottlings, premium barrel selections, and site expression. Misty Cove is SWNZ-accredited, with annual sustainability audits and low-input farming that includes sheep grazing, organic fertiliser, efficient irrigation, habitat planting, and waste-reduction initiatives. Notes also cite certified organic and vegan wines, reflecting the producer’s broader emphasis on sustainable practice and a bold, slightly unconventional Marlborough style.
