France

Joseph Mellot is a historic, family-owned Loire Valley house based in Sancerre, with a heritage dating to 1513 and now led by Catherine Corbeau-Mellot, who is also the winemaker. The estate produces wines across the eight Central Loire appellations, including Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Quincy and Reuilly, alongside associated domaines such as Jean-Michel Sorbe and Pierre Duret. Its vineyards are farmed through sustainable, environmentally responsible practices, including mechanical soil work; all vineyards hold HVE certification, while the Domaine des Émois is certified organic. Joseph Mellot was the first winery in the region to receive ISO 14001 environmental-management certification. The house also offers wine tourism through its boutique, historic cellar and accommodation in Sancerre.
