Gemstone Vineyard

United States

Gemstone Vineyards is an estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon producer in Yountville, Napa Valley, founded in 1992. Its sustainably farmed, hand-tended vineyard is divided into 20 distinct micro-blocks, with heirloom Cabernet clones, varied trellising, and gravelly alluvial and volcanic soils over sandstone bedrock. The site’s north–south row orientation and carefully selected plant material reflect a detailed, terroir-focused approach. Winemaking is described as non-interventionist and minimally manipulative, with Thomas Rivers Brown identified as partner winemaker; other notes name Julien Fayard, formerly of Château Lafite Rothschild, as winemaker. Production is limited, with wines offered primarily through an allocation list.
