Producer

Fattoria del Cerro

Italy

Fattoria del Cerro is based in Acquaviva, Montepulciano, in Tuscany, and is part of the Tenute del Cerro group of estates in Tuscany and Umbria. It is identified as the largest private producer of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, with vineyards in the Pieve di Sant’Ilario UGA. The estate focuses on Prugnolo Gentile, the local Sangiovese biotype that has long adapted to this territory, and its varied vineyard exposures allow careful grape selection according to the vintage. Notes also highlight clonal research on Prugnolo Gentile, the preservation of minor native varieties, and a quality-driven approach combining selective harvest, careful winemaking, and modern sorting technology. Winemaking is overseen by Emanuele Nardi, with consultancy from Riccardo Cotarella.
