Domaine Valma

France

Domaine Valma is a family-run natural wine estate founded in 2021 by Valentine and Stéphane Mathieu in Fleurie, Beaujolais. Working vineyards in Les Labourons, La Madone, and La Chapelle des Bois, the domaine farms granite-rich soils organically in official conversion, following biodynamic principles, hand-harvesting, and thoughtful pruning. Valentine oversees the vineyards, cellar, and winemaking, with technical guidance from natural-wine pioneer Jacques Néauport, while Stéphane manages marketing and sales. Their small-batch, low-intervention wines are made with minimal inputs and semi-carbonic maceration, aiming to express terroir. The resulting wines are described as assured, elegant, and complex.
