Domaine de la Chapelle

France

Family-owned and operated by the Frey family, Domaine de la Chapelle is rooted in the steep, stony slopes of Tain l’Hermitage, where diverse granite, alluvial, loess, and clay-limestone soils shape the wines. With a history reaching back to the 13th century, the estate focuses on the natural expression and longevity of Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne. Its vineyards include century-old vines and are farmed organically and biodynamically, with regenerative practices aimed at improving soil health and resilience. Meticulous hand-harvesting in small crates preserves grape integrity, while massal-selection conservatories and separate micro-vinifications support thoughtful replanting. The domaine’s approach is firmly terroir-driven, allowing the wines to reveal the character of the Hermitage hill and its individual lieux-dits.}
