Castello di Gabbiano

Italy

Castello di Gabbiano is a historic winery in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti Classico, with references dating to the 11th century and a three-hundred-year winemaking tradition. Its estate combines vineyards, olive groves and woods, with Sangiovese at the centre of production alongside native and international varieties. Wines are vinified and aged in restored vaulted cellars dating from the 14th century. Over the past two decades, the estate has pursued certified sustainable production, including environmental, social-accountability and workplace-safety standards, as well as projects focused on soil biodiversity and reducing plant-protection products. The estate also produces PDO extra virgin olive oil from estate-grown olives, harvested and pressed on site. Guided cellar and vineyard tours, hospitality and regular art exhibitions extend its connection to Tuscan culture beyond wine.
