Casa Ermelinda Freitas is a family-owned producer in Fernando Pó, Palmela, on the Setúbal Peninsula, led by Leonor Freitas and with winemaking overseen by oenologist Jaime Quendera. Established in 1920, the winery combines modern technology with traditional methods and has developed from selling wine in bulk to bottling wines under its own brands. Its vineyards lie on sandy soils in a Mediterranean climate, with Castelão and Fernão Pires among the principal varieties. The estate produces a broad range of wines, including Castelão reds and Moscatel wines, often emphasizing extended maceration and oak ageing. The winery also promotes wine tourism through visits, events, and a Museum of Memories.
