Rompesedas is a label of Bodegas Coral Duero, made from an iconic Tinta de Toro vineyard planted in 1917 in the extreme climate of Toro, Castilla y León. The high-elevation site has sandy-loam topsoil over clay, with hot, dry summers, cold winters, limited rainfall and marked day-night temperature variation. Farming is sustainable, using natural and organic nutrients while avoiding artificial pesticides and irrigation; grapes are hand-picked and harvested early. Vineyard work is carried out by experienced local growers alongside family and friends. Careful selection and modern winemaking aim to express an aromatic, elegant style from these ancient vines.
