Ricossa is a historic Piedmontese winery, founded in the early 1900s and now based at the Ca’ dei Mandorli estate in Castel Boglione, in Monferrato. Family-owned and part of the MGM Mondo del Vino group, it works primarily with Barbera on clay-limestone soils of the Asti hills. Grapes are hand-picked, with selected wines undergoing a five- to six-week appassimento before fermentation, reflecting Ricossa’s pioneering, contemporary interpretation of traditional Piedmontese varieties. Its portfolio spans Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera d’Asti and Alta Langa, organized across Cellar, Appassimento and Lorenzo Ricossa lines. The latter honors the founder, whose early-20th-century activity is described as innovative. Ricossa emphasizes regional tradition, daily enological dedication and quality-focused production.
