Renato Ratti

Italy

Founded in 1965 by Renato Ratti, a pivotal figure known as the 'father of the Barolo crus,' this family-owned estate in La Morra pioneered single-vineyard Barolos. Now led by his son Pietro Ratti, the winery farms approximately 50-60 hectares across six sites using integrated, sustainable practices and publishes an annual sustainability report. The philosophy emphasizes terroir, vintage uniqueness, and bottle aging. Renato Ratti's legacy includes creating the iconic Albeisa bottle in 1973, a historic map of Barolo subzones, and the Renato Ratti Museum, which opened in 2025. The winery's labels feature distinctive 'soldatini' (little soldier) designs, linking the wines to local history.
