Quinta de Carvalhossa is a historic Douro estate owned by Real Companhia Velha since 1953, when Manuel da Silva Reis acquired Miguel de Sousa Guedes e Irmão Lda. Its vineyards range from 80 to 500 metres in elevation and include old vines approaching 100 years of age alongside newer plantings of native grape varieties. The property is described as Real Companhia Velha’s most important estate, combining long-established vineyard material with continued planting in the region’s traditional varieties. No sustainability certifications or individual winemaker are identified.
