Moric

Austria

Moric is an independent Austrian estate in Burgenland, run by Roland Velich after he left the family estate to focus on old-vine sites in Mittelburgenland, including Lutzmannsburg and Neckenmarkt. Based in Grosshoflein, Moric is known for terroir-driven Blaufränkisch, as well as Grüner Veltliner and other single-vineyard wines. The vineyards are farmed organically and biodynamically, with certified biodynamic status. In the cellar, Velich emphasizes expressive, site-specific wines with indigenous yeasts and limited oak rather than a uniform style. Moric also includes collaborative “Hidden Treasures” releases with Attila Homonna and Tamás Kis.
