La Combarbia

La Combarbia is a family-run winery in Cervognano, Montepulciano, founded in the early 1960s by Novilio Mariani and taken over in 2016 by his grandson-in-law, Gabriele Florio. Gabriele oversees the vineyards and winemaking, continuing the estate’s traditional values while introducing modern cultivation, harvesting, and cellar techniques. The vineyards lie at 300–400 metres on south-facing clay and tuffaceous soils; grapes are harvested by hand and fermented spontaneously. The winery emphasizes respect for the land, naturalness, and sustainable practices, although no formal certifications are listed. Its wines include Vino Nobile and Rosso di Montepulciano DOC/DOCG, Toscana IGT bottlings, and sparkling white wines.
