South Africa

Hyacinth Wines is a South African producer making modern, lighter-styled wines from Stellenbosch and Wellington. Its vineyards reflect distinctive sites, including Wellington’s elevated, granite-based terrain and Stellenbosch’s Mediterranean climate, with wines designed to be balanced, fresh and not overly jammy. Winemaker Rüdger van Wyk follows a minimal-intervention approach, allowing the character of the grapes and vineyards to show through, with little obvious oak influence. Hyacinth pursues regenerative viticulture and low-impact farming, without cited formal certifications. The company controls its supply chain, including a European warehouse and direct distribution, helping keep the wines approachable and affordable.
