Egon Müller

Germany

Historic family-owned Mosel estate Egon Müller has remained in the same family since 1797 and is now run by Egon Müller IV, who also serves as winemaker, with the next generation active in the vineyards. The domaine works exclusively with estate-grown Riesling, centered on the famed Scharzhofberg and also including Wiltinger braune Kupp and Le Gallais holdings. Farming is close to nature, with low yields, manual vineyard work, no artificial fertilizers or pesticides, and minimal chemical treatments. In the cellar, the approach is traditional and minimalist, with gentle pressing, spontaneous fermentation, and early bottling to preserve freshness, site character, and long aging potential.
