Château Simone

France

Château Simone is a family-owned estate in Meyreuil, in Provence’s Palette AOC, run by the Rougier family since 1830 and now led by seventh-generation Jean-François Rougier. Long associated with the history of Palette, the estate helped shape recognition of the appellation. Its vineyards lie on the north-facing limestone scree slopes of the Montaiguet massif in a protected microclimate, with some very old vines and a wide range of grape varieties. Farming is organic in practice, with no herbicides or chemical fertilizers, and vines are worked in the soils and trained on stakes. Harvests are manual with careful double sorting, and winemaking follows a traditional approach with indigenous yeasts and a strong focus on preserving fruit integrity.
