Château des Annereaux

France

Château des Annereaux is a historic family estate in Lalande-de-Pomerol, Bordeaux, with roots documented from 1390 and today owned by Dominique Hessel and managed by Benjamin Hessel. Certified organic since 2010 after beginning conversion in 2007, the estate follows an agroecological approach focused on soil life, biodiversity, and long-term terroir health, with hedgerows, fruit trees, nesting boxes, cover crops, beehives, solar panels, and gentle pruning with Simonit & Sirch. In 2023 it became the first Bordeaux wine estate to earn B Corp certification. On gravel, sand, and clay soils, the wines are led by Merlot and made with careful observation and gentle extraction, aiming for finesse, balance, freshness, and silky tannins, with about 12 months’ ageing in oak and large wood.
