Luca is a Mendoza project founded in 1999 and owned by Laura Catena, focused on small-batch wines from historic high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley. The winery is noted for pioneering old-vine Malbec bottlings in Argentina, working with small family growers, and producing high-altitude Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, including organically farmed sites. Its approach centers on preserving old-vine heritage, supporting growers by contracting them directly and covering vineyard maintenance, and safeguarding vineyard material through Catena’s preservation nursery. Winemaking and viticulture are closely associated with Laura Catena and Luis Reginato, whose long collaboration reflects Luca’s strong focus on terroir, old vines, and Mendoza’s cooler, extreme-altitude sites. Luca is certified sustainable by Bodegas de Argentina.
