Grapes
Spain
Founded in 2010 by wine importer Jorge Ordóñez, Bodegas Breca is a family-owned producer in Calatayud, Aragón, dedicated to old-vine Garnacha de Aragón. Its head-trained vines, planted between 1900 and 1975, are dry-farmed without irrigation using a low-intervention approach. Grapes are hand-harvested and whole-berry macerated in open-top stainless steel vats, with wines aged in new and used French oak puncheons and demi-muids. Breca’s wines express a focused commitment to traditional Garnacha from old, non-irrigated vineyards.
