Amézola is a family-owned Rioja estate in Torremontalbo, founded in 1816 and now led by fifth-generation sisters María and Cristina Amézola, who took over in 1999 and also serve as winemakers. One of the few château-style properties in Rioja, it works exclusively with its own vineyards around the winery, following a self-supply model pioneered in the appellation. The focus is firmly on vineyard care and quality, with barrel-aged wines shaped by clay-calcareous, stony and limestone soils in Rioja Alta. Historic underground cellars and a long family story reinforce its traditional, estate-driven identity.
