Alex Foillard

France

Founded in 2016, Alex Foillard’s family-owned Domaine Foillard is a small Beaujolais estate based in Brouilly and Côte-de-Brouilly. Alex, son of Jean Foillard, farms the vineyards with organic principles, hand-harvesting and working with minimal intervention. His wines are made with whole clusters and indigenous yeasts in concrete tanks, with minimal sulfur and no fining or filtration. The estate includes old vines on granite-rich, schist and sandy soils, including an 80–90-year-old parcel beneath Régnié. Alex serves as the sole winemaker, giving the domaine a distinctly personal, artisanal character.
