Adega Cooperativa da Vidigueira is a cooperative producer in Vidigueira, Alentejo, founded in 1960 to protect the region’s vineyards, wines, and longstanding rural way of life. Collectively owned by local grower-members, it is closely tied to the communities of Vidigueira, Cuba, and Alvito. The winery is especially associated with indigenous grapes, notably Antão Vaz, and with the traditional Alentejo practice of Vinho de Talha, preserving the region’s clay-amphora winemaking heritage through wine tourism, events, and historic spaces such as Taberna dos Arcos. Alongside this strong regional identity, the cellar presents itself as a modern, quality-focused operation, with certifications in quality and food safety and an emphasis on continuous improvement and regional development.
