Loïc Mahé

France

Loïc Mahé is an independent, family-run vigneron in Savennières in the Loire Valley, where he planted his first vines in 2000 and rebuilt a vineyard on south-facing schist soils. Owner and winemaker, he works with a clear terroir focus, aiming for balanced, authentic wines through patient farming and minimal-intervention cellar work. The estate is organically certified (AB) and follows biodynamic principles, with no herbicides or chemical fertilizers, cover crops, herbal preparations, sheep grazing, and manual harvests with multiple selections. In the cellar, fermentations are natural with indigenous yeasts, no added sugar or other inputs, and only very low sulfur. Following frost losses, he has also continued certain cuvées by sourcing fruit from trusted organic or biodynamic growers and vinifying it in his Savennières cellar.
