Pio Cesare is a large, family-owned estate founded in 1881 in Alba, now in its fifth generation of family leadership. It manages about 75–80 hectares of vineyards across the Langhe, including holdings in Barolo and Barbaresco, and produces roughly 400,000 bottles annually. The winery is run by Federica Boffa and Cesare Benvenuto, who also serves as winemaker. Viticulture follows an SQNPI-certified integrated system, avoiding chemical fertilizers and pesticides in favor of green manure, mechanical weeding, biodiversity planting, and micro-climate monitoring. The family emphasizes an artisanal spirit, sustainable practices, and a commitment to high quality without compromise.
