Rinforzo is a Puglian label owned by Codici (Masserie Codici), part of the MGM Mondo del Vino S.p.A. group. It produces Primitivo from Salento using a distinctive “reinforcement” method: grapes are slightly dried before fermentation to build character and elegance. The wines are fermented in steel with skin maceration, then aged for several months in steel or wood, sometimes barrique. Full-bodied yet refined, they show ripe red fruits, plums, spices, balsamic nuances, bitter chocolate, and Mediterranean herbs. The approach focuses on careful handling of the dried grapes and on making expressive wines intended for enjoyment without waiting for a special occasion.
