Poggio di Bortolone is a seventh-generation family estate in Chiaramonte Gulfi, southeastern Sicily, owned and operated by Pierluigi Cosenza, who serves as both owner and winemaker. Founded in the late 18th century, it lies in the historic heart of Cerasuolo di Vittoria Classico DOCG, among hills, valley floors, vineyards, olive trees, and natural areas along the Para Para and Mazzarronello streams. The estate practices integrated agriculture, including winter cover cropping, soil analysis, hand selection of grapes, renewable electricity, wastewater phytodepuration and reuse, and recyclable packaging. Its wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes, with a particular focus on Cerasuolo di Vittoria and native Frappato, which has become an iconic part of the range. The estate holds ISO 14064-1:2018 Carbon Footprint certification.
