France

J. Lassalle is a family-owned grower-producer in Chigny-les-Roses in Champagne’s Montagne de Reims, founded in 1942 by Jules Lassalle. Since his death, the estate has been carried forward by three generations of women—Olga, Chantal Decelle-Lassalle, and Angéline Templier, who serves as winemaker. The domaine farms premier cru vineyards under lutte raisonnée, with plantings of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay on clay-limestone soils. Traditional methods remain central, including use of the original wooden basket press and hand-riddling. The house focuses on estate-grown Champagne and is noted for wines that combine elegance, purity, and terroir expression, with extended aging for key cuvées.
