Fossil Point is a small-scale, hands-on producer based in Arroyo Grande on California’s Central Coast, working with individual lots from coastal vineyards in Edna Valley and Paso Robles. Its wines reflect the influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean, where marine breezes, fog and seasonal currents shape the growing season. Edna Valley’s calcareous shale and coarse-sand soils were uplifted from the ancient seafloor. The winery farms with close attention to the coastal environment, with most estate and purchased vineyards certified through Sustainability in Practice (SIP). Winemaking is limited-batch and attentive to each lot, using traditional techniques including hand punchdowns and tank delestage. The range emphasizes approachable, high-quality wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Grenache Rosé and Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon.
