Château Fonbadet

France

Château Fonbadet is a family-owned Pauillac estate in Bordeaux, held by the Peyronie family for four generations and now led by Pascale Peyronie. Based on Garonne gravel soils near noted classified growths, the estate farms old vines with hand harvesting and a traditional approach, alongside reasoned, eco-responsible viticulture, bio-control, and attention to biodiversity. Winemaking is supported by technical advisor Eric Boissenot and consultant Michel Rolland, involved since 2014, with élevage in barrel for 18 months, half new oak. The wines are described as powerful yet balanced, showing black fruit, tobacco, spice, and a velvety texture.
