Cecchi is a historic family-owned Tuscan producer founded in 1893 by Luigi Cecchi and still run by fourth-generation brothers Andrea and Cesare Cecchi, with Andrea leading production and winemaking. Based in Castellina in Chianti, the family has estates across Tuscany and in Montefalco, Umbria, focused largely on appellation wines including Chianti Classico, Morellino di Scansano and Montefalco Sagrantino. Their approach balances tradition with experimentation, especially around Sangiovese, zoning and agronomic development, while emphasizing respect for grape varieties and terroir. Sustainability is a defining theme, with organic certification across a substantial part of the vineyards, integrated agriculture, wastewater phytodepuration systems and recognition through the Eco Efficient prize.
