Château Langoa Barton

France

Château Langoa Barton is a long-established family estate in Saint-Julien, owned by the Barton family since 1821 and now in its 10th generation under Anthony and Lilian Barton. Classified as a Third Growth in 1855, it combines deep family continuity with a traditional, hands-on approach in both vineyard and cellar. The estate farms without herbicides, uses traditional plowing, manual vineyard work and hand harvesting, and holds HVE Level 3 certification. Winemaking, led by François Brehant with consultant Eric Boissenot, follows a classic style with gravity-fed wooden vats and aging in French oak, reflecting a balance of tradition, expertise, and environmental respect.
