Castello di Verduno

Italy

Cantine Castello di Verduno is a family-owned estate in Piedmont, rooted in the union of the Burlotto and Bianco families. Owned by Gabriella Burlotto and Franco Bianco, with the next generation involved, the winery farms vineyards in Verduno and Barbaresco and produces Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera, Dolcetto, Langhe Nebbiolo, and the rare Verduno Pelaverga. Its history is tied to the Castello di Verduno, the Savoy family, and King Carlo Alberto. Franco Bianco oversees the vineyards, while Mario Andrion leads the cellar work with a traditional, minimal-intervention approach, including open-vat fermentation, calibrated macerations, long aging in large oak, indigenous yeasts, and restrained sulfur use.
