Producer

Brewer-Clifton

United States

Founded in 1996 and privately held by Greg Brewer, Brewer-Clifton is dedicated to the cool, maritime-influenced Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara County. Working with estate-grown vineyards on limestone-rich soils, the producer focuses on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that express the region’s varied sites, aspects, soils, and microclimates. Estate vineyards are sustainably certified through CCSW and SIP, with sustainable and organic farming methods used to balance site and vine. Winemaking is deliberately restrained: Chardonnay is raised in neutral barrels, while Pinot Noir undergoes whole-cluster fermentation, emphasizing transparency, purity, and minimal intervention. Greg Brewer has devoted his career to mapping, defining, and interpreting this distinctive appellation, producing individualistic wines recognized for their refinement and ability to improve with age.
