Champagne Bollinger is a historic, family-owned and independent house founded in 1829 in Aÿ. It owns about 180 hectares of vineyards, with 85% classified as Grand and Premier Cru, spread over seven key sites. The house is distinguished by its deep commitment to tradition, including vinifying its best wines in old oak barrels—maintained by its resident cooper—and aging reserve wines in a unique library of over a million magnums. It preserves rare, ungrafted pre-phylloxera Pinot Noir vines in two walled clos for its Vieilles Vignes Française cuvée. Bollinger earned B Corp certification in 2023, reflecting its focus on sustainable viticulture, biodiversity, and long-term family stewardship. Annual production is around 2.5 million bottles.
