Antichi Poderi Jerzu

Italy

Antichi Poderi Jerzu is a cooperative winery in Ogliastra, Sardinia, founded in 1950 and owned by hundreds of local wine-growing families. Its vineyards stretch from the Gennargentu mountains toward the sea, with varied calcareous and schist soils and a broad range of altitudes that create distinct growing zones. The winery has identified nine sub-areas for terroir-specific winemaking, supported by ongoing research and zoning studies. Farming and cellar work emphasize sustainability and low-intervention methods, with gentle pressing, temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation, reduced additives, and ageing mainly on fine lees in steel. Best known for Cannonau di Sardegna, including Riserva, the estate also produces other Sardinian varieties and maintains a strong cultural role in the territory through exhibitions, events, and community life.
