Producer

Pierre Amadieu

France

Family-run in Gigondas since 1929, Pierre Amadieu is a multigenerational Rhône Valley estate closely tied to the village and its terroir. Pierre and Jean-Marie Amadieu, both oenologists, lead the winemaking, with other family members overseeing vineyards and commercial roles. The domaine focuses on Gigondas alongside other Rhône appellations, with an approach centered on parcel selection, traditional élevage in large foudres, and limited cellar intervention to preserve balance and site expression. Sustainability is part of the estate’s farming approach, and since the 2023 vintage its IGP Viognier Clairette and AOC Gigondas are certified organic. Recent projects include amphora trials for Clairette and a new gravity-fed cellar planned for the 2026 harvest.
