Jean-Paul Thévenet is a third-generation family domaine in Morgon, Beaujolais, run by Jean-Paul Thévenet and his son Charly. The estate farms old-vine vineyards on schist and granite soils and has been certified organic and biodynamic since the family’s conversion beginning in 2008. Viticulture avoids synthetic herbicides and pesticides, with cover crops, natural composts, and manual harvesting. In the cellar, the Thévenets work with indigenous yeasts, low-temperature maceration, minimal or no sulfur, aging on fine old oak, and no fining or filtration. The result is a traditionally minded, low-intervention Beaujolais producer rooted in family stewardship and careful farming.
