Domaine de la Monardière

France

Domaine de la Monardière is a family-run estate in Vacqueyras in the southern Rhône Valley, founded in 1987 from family vines and now led by the second generation. Its viticultural roots date to the early 1900s, with many old vines including Grenache planted from 1945. Certified organic under the EU Bio scheme since 2007, the domaine focuses on biodiversity through cover crops, hedges, trees and massal selection, while avoiding chemical herbicides and using only natural treatments when needed. Work in the vineyard and harvest are done by hand. In the cellar, the approach is low-intervention, with spontaneous fermentations from indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur, and aging in concrete or used oak to produce authentic wines shaped by their terroir.
