Château Haut-Beauséjour

France

Château Haut-Beauséjour is a Saint-Estèphe estate founded by Maison Roederer in 1992 and acquired by the Rousseau family in 2017. Its vineyard lies on the Médoc’s third terrace, where deep gravel and clay-gravel soils provide strong drainage and warmth. Planted predominantly to Merlot with Cabernet Sauvignon, the estate uses careful sorting, thermoregulated, parcel-by-parcel fermentation, and oak aging for 12–14 months, with varying accounts noting approximately 35–50% new French oak. The wines are made by the technical team shared with Château de Pez, with Jean-Claude Rouzaud involved as oenologist. No specific sustainability certifications or farming practices are documented in the available notes.
