Château de Fargues is a historic, family-owned estate in Sauternes, Bordeaux, continuously held by the Lur Saluces family since 1472 and now led by Philippe de Lur Saluces after Alexandre de Lur Saluces. It produces a single Sauternes from botrytised Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc, with multiple selective hand harvest passes to pick noble-rot fruit at peak concentration. The estate farms without synthetic chemicals in an organic-style, low-intervention approach, aiming for natural, harmonious wines. Vinification and long barrel aging are handled with care, and some wines are bottled without fining or filtration. Known for very low yields, Château de Fargues is recognized for Sauternes of purity, elegance, concentration, and long aging potential.
